Being selected as the winner amongst five finalists is an honor… and we are proud to say that we are the only 100% dedicated gluten free restaurant in Greater Cleveland.
Chef-owner Brian and his wife Jen have a son, Logan, who was diagnosed with autism. And Jen suffered from a debilitating medical condition that left her unable to walk. When doctors couldn't offer any solutions, Chef Brian began his own research and realized "a gluten free diet could benefit our son, as well as hold the key to my wife’s recovery."
"As a chef, I realized I could no longer work around gluten. I carried it home on my clothes and it was in our home, so I needed to find a way for me to practice my profession and still keep my family away from, what was for them, harmful foods. That is when Cafe Avalaun was born," Chef Brian explained.
